Week 20

Week 20 = Half way there!!!!!!!

It's hard to believe I am now in month 5 of pregnancy! It has gone by pretty dam fast. This week Baby D is the size of:

I thought girls were supposed to be the dramatic ones?? Well...this little boy gave me quite the scare last Friday. While at work I noticed I had started bleeding - scary stuff! Needless to say...I completely 100% freaked out. "Is this normal?" "Am I miscarrying?" "What the hell is going on?"

Thanks to everyone I work with I was able to leave and get checked out. 4 hours, a doctors visit, and a hospital visit later I was relieved to know that everything was a-ok! Still not sure what really happened, but baby seemed quite happy swimming around during the ultrasound. The best noise that day...his heartbeat!!! Thank the Lord! I have never been so scared in my life! I think I also scared the beejesus out of people at work, my poor mom - if it's not my dad.....it's me....and the hubster! Sorry all! I'd put the little one in timeout, but he doesn't sit still!

One good thing that came out of it.....I got some more pics of baby to be!

Little Feet
Proof that it's a boy

Doctors wanted me to take it easy this weekend after all the craziness, so I tried to do just that. When I got home that night I did go right to sleep. Then, I woke up the nest morning with my first pregnancy cold! YUCK! Jeepers.....after everything with my dad and this scare you'd think my body would be nice to me...but no. Instead it said....oh you're relaxed now? You're not running around like a chicken with it's head cut off?? Ok then....time for you to deal with something else!

A pregnancy cold seems different then just a regular cold for some reason. The difference.....it kicks your ass! You would think by now that some pregnant doctor would invent something that pregnant women can take when sick. Tylenol just doesn't cut it! I want the good medicated nose spray so I can breathe! I'd love some NyQuil so I could sleep!

My funny TMI moment with this cold is sneezing and coughing. Who would have thought I would pee everytime I cough or sneeze?! TMI I know, but the best thing about this blog....it's about me and if you don't like the TMI moments then don't read it! I think it's funny! If you've been pregnant before you probably know exactly what I'm talking about. If you want to have a baby someday....you just wait for the weird things that happen to your body!

One thing I have been playing with while I'm "taking it easy" is the dreaded registry! Parts of it are fun....other parts are incredibly overwhelming. How many strollers are there out there anyway? All of my Mommy friends have been great! Thanks to all of you who sent emails, lists, and even lists with links to products!! You girls rock!

I really like this boy nursery......

At the moment, the nursery walls are green, but a very pale, pretty green.
I found this bedding on Target.com but I'm not sure if our green walls with go.

.
I need to buy something in order to play and plan with, but I'm thinking plain walls, fun polka dot accessories with the bedding, either these curtains or solid brown ones....add those chinese lanterns!! Love those instead of a mobile over the crib!

And here it is.....Jeff's Daddy Comment of the Week - unedited of course!

"I watched nine hours of football this past Sunday.  Ok, maybe 10 ½ because of the replacement refs.  As much as I enjoy watching football and can’t wait to do it alongside my son, the NFL wasn’t the highlight of my day.  Kristin finally succeeded in dragging me to go apple picking before the 1pm games.  It’s taken her 5 years, but she got me there.  The farm we went to turned out to be pretty cool; I got a doughnut, apple cider and saw some baby goats.  As we were walking back to the car Kristin told me the next time we go we’ll be pushing a stroller.  How crazy is that?  After this little trip I can honestly say I can’t wait to start taking these little family weekend trips to parks and zoos; I just also hope that the G-Men have a lot of night games next year!"

IT'S A ?????????????

Are you all ready for this????

Sooooooo, Jeff didn't last as long as he thought he would on this whole gender thing! Either he caved and was just as excited to know as I was, or he is plain and simple the best hubby because he wants to see me smile! Either way.....we know!

We had our own cars at the appointment on Friday because we both came from work. After the appointment he said he would be late because he needed to get gas. Late to me from getting gas is 15 minutes after me.....not an hour and a half behind! I thought he was up to "something" but I didn't press my luck! No further questions were asked!

When he finally got home we got ready to celebrate - Date Night! When we pulled in the parking lot I got a call from my sister......my dad had been brought back to the hospital. I went from the highest of highs to the lowest of lows. Needless to say....celebrating was put on hold and family time was in need.

After a very long night I wanted to make Jeff breakfast. He has been so supported during this whole ordeal. For some reason he was "still hungry" after eating. He left the room and came back with.....

Ahhhhhhhh!!! I knew exactly what it was! We had talked about the whole gender reveal with cupcakes before!! Never did I think it would be the day after though!! I thought for sure he would save the reveal for my birthday in November!

I was so excited that my body started shaking and sweating! I couldn't believe we were about to find out if we were having a
boy or a girl!!!

I was ready!!! What's better then finding out the gender of your baby??? A cupcake dessert at 9 o'clock in the morning!!!!

Jeff asked....."Are you ready???" Am I ready?? I was about to destroy that cupcake!!!

With a count of 3 I took the biggest bite to get to the middle of that cupcake!

What?!?!?! Wait! Where is the pink???? Where is the blue???? This was worse then my multi-colored cake dream!! Did he really just do that to me??

I have NEVER heard Jeff laugh so hard in his life!

Yup...he did. He thinks he is soooooo funny, but I have to give credit where credit is due! That was good!

He had planned this reveal for after our celebration dinner, but obviously plans had changed! I wondered where the cupcakes had come from, but then the mysterious hour and a half returned to my head!

I thought that was the end of it. Joke over....moving on with the day.
I was wrong. In he walks with another pink box!!

This time it was for real!!!

Blue?!?! I was convinced it was a girl for the LONGEST time! I thought for sure I would be seeing pink frosting! All the gender tests said girl! Everyone that predicted said girl! B's mom saw string moving in a particular direction and said girl! All signs pointed to GIRL.

Boy, was I in for a surprise.....a very good surprise indeed!

We immediately called my mom. She needed to hear some happy news! She started crying before we even told her.....she knew what was about to come out of our mouths! As soon as I said, "It's a BOY" she stopped crying! hahahaha! I think she was in shock because she was just as convinced as I was! Another boy to add to her grandchildren! She is over the moon :  )

We told Jeff's parents on FaceTime! Another happy set of grandparents!

Again.....I wanted to tell my dad in person - for some reason he always gets the creative reveals!! I thought telling him at the hospital would brighten his spirit.

I ordered some blue balloons and figured why not?!? People bring "Get Well" balloons to hospitals. Why not reveal it that way and see if he figures it out when I walk in the door?!
Before the hospital visit of course I needed a 10 minute photo session for keepsakes!

My dad reacted as best as he could! With all the pain meds being pumped in his body it was hard to keep him awake! He studied our alien picture for awhile and the balloons are in his room as a constant reminder to stay strong and get better sooooooon!

So....it is official!

BABY DAVIDSON IS A

BOY

:)

Week 18

We are officially at 18 weeks! Baby D is the size of.......

                                              I know, I know......lemon to a pepper! It's been awhile!

Head to rump, Baby D is about 5 1/2 inches long and weighs almost 7 ounces. I've def gained more then 7 ounces I can tell you that!!! My jeans officially DO NOT zip up anymore! Welcome to the world of the belly band! The baby is busy flexing his arms and legs, although I haven't felt any movement so far! The blood vessels are visible through the thin skin, and the ears are now in their final position.

We've had a really hard couple of weeks and I blame my lack of blogging on being completely preoccupied with worry. My dad has been in and out of the hospital, so life has revolved around stressful days and hospital visits. I think we hit our lowest of lows when his heart completely stopped and we didn't think he would pull through. My dad is a trooper though! One week in intensive care and pace maker in place he was ready to come home on Monday! My dad has no choice but to get better! He does have a unborn grandchild who wants to meet his Grandpa! If a little baby isn't motivation enough I don't know what is!

This is my dad the day before leaving the hospital! Happy Guy!

On a happier note.....

We had our BIG ultra sound on Friday. It was insane to say the least. Baby D looks perfect. We saw soooo many different views....the spine, the kidney, the heart beating up a storm, its hands covering its little face, but the tech never stopped on a frame to reveal the sex! I wanted to know.....Jeff did not......so we made a compromise. We had the tech write the gender down on a piece of paper and they sealed it in an envelope - a NON see through envelope! haha - believe me I would try! Leaving the doctors Jeff wouldn't even let me hold onto it. He knows me all too well! He took it and it is in his hands until the day he decides to do the big reveal! Grrrrrr!

Here are some pics of baby to be!

This next one is a little alien like! They did a couple of 3-D images and it was so weird. Here is Baby D relaxing with its hand behind its head with a little smirk!

I think it totally looks like a boy! Only little boys would hang out comfortable as can be while their mommy is getting poked with an ultra sound device! We'll see!

Week 15

Week 15.....The week of the ORANGE

This week Baby D can wiggle it's fingers and toes, although I can't feel a thing yet! I can't wait for that first movement I feel, although I will probably freak out! The baby's ears have migrated to sides of it's head and it's eyes are moving to the front of it's face! hmmmmm.......where do those eyes start out? It is really alien like! Imagine if those eyes don't move where they are supposed to! Yikes!

Jeff's mom is on week 3 of "Operation Upstairs!" She has been working her tail off to transform all of the wooden trim to white. We even surprised Jeff with a new master bedroom color! Simply put...I love it and I love all of her effort!! I wish I took more before pictures, but I didn't think of it till it was too late! Here are SOME pictures!  Stayed tuned for final pics     :  )
Master Bedroom Before

Spare bedroom before the carpet and white trim
Bathroom Door before the white trim

The stairs after the installation of new carpet. I can't wait to fill those frames!

My favorite! Nancy surprised me with a bassinet! Loved seeing it in the nursery!

Then there is the "Family Car!" I traded in my good old Mazda for a Honda CRV. That Mazda...aka "Nala" was dam good to me and I will miss her....

But there is nothing like a brand new car! Here she is!

I had to stay with the white! I love white cars! I'm loving the SUV so far! Being up high makes me feel like a bad ass! haha.

Week 14

Ok....I guess I am not the blogger like I had planned to be! I am really bad at keeping up to date and even taking pictures! I need to get better at that!

The week of the LEMON!

This week has been awesome! It is the first week in awhile that I have NOT gotten sick!! Yay! Last week was awful! Everyday I wanted to curl up in a ball. Luckily, I am working with first graders so they couldn't quite put two and two together. I have a college student in my room helping out and she has been a Godsend! Thank you Katie! I don't know what I would have done without her. I think my sickness each day has been wonderful birth control for her.....well that or the 20 little rug rats we have who don't listen to a word we say! haha  :  )

With my energy coming back I started back at the gym this week. Finally! I was becoming quite the lazy couch potato! I tried a Yoga class and did my all time favorite....Zumba twice! I am really keeping my fingers crossed that I can and will exercise throughout the entire pregnancy. I do need that extra push though!

Names:

My current obsession are names! It is sooooo incredibly hard choosing the perfect name. I'll like names and Jeff won't. Jeff will like ones that I don't. We'll agree on a name that truly has meaning to our family and then I can't stop thinking about the fact that so and so has the same name! Why that matters and why I care I don't know, but it's so annoying! Then we'll both like a name and then can't seem to pick a middle name that flows. Grrrrr!! We have plenty of time to find the perfect name.

Names of the week NOT for us!

Carlucci - he is a kid in my class who pees his pants every Tuesday and Thursday!
Dick Assman - it's a real name people! Google him!
Mona Lisa - sweetest girl I had in class one year, but really??

Dreams:

My dreams lately have been bananas! Everything has to do with being pregnant! Jeff and I have been debating whether or not to find out the gender of the baby. I feel like I NEED to know because of my personality. I am such a planner and feel like I'll have anxiety not knowing because I'll feel like we can't do anything until he/she arrives! Jeff likes the element of surprise. I say it's a surprise whether we find out at week 18 or 40! I think I win, but if you all know Jeff...you know he doesn't cave! In my dream we had the doctor write the gender in a sealed envelope. We brought the envelope to a local bakery for them to bake a cake to reveal the sex. You've all seen the pictures. When you cut in the cake it's pink for a girl....blue for a boy. Well....we had our entire family over for dinner and when I cut into the cake it was PINK!!! Ohhh......and blue.....and purple.....and green and every other color of the rainbow! WTF!

New addition to my blog.....the daddy section! With each new post I'm going to allow Jeff to write whatever he wants....WITHOUT any editing! I may regret this later, but I think it's fun to get his point of view as well.

Daddy Reflection:

I thought by now I'd be able to look forward to coming home and rubbing a big round tummy.  Nope!  It still looks the same as it always has.  Maybe she needs more lima beans in her diet...hmmm

10 Weeks

We are at 10 weeks! Woo-hoo! 2 more weeks and I will be in my second trimester! I've decided to share pictures and mini surveys throughout my pregnancy so I can see the belly growth and remember years from now what I experienced during these nine months of awaiting life!

During the past couple of weeks I've been getting sick more frequently.....something that Jeff is happy about because it's proof that the baby is healthy and growing......yup not so much fun though! Other then that I can't really complain. It's a small price to pay for the miracle at the end!

I've been having fun pinning lots of ideas on Pinterest and searching baby names.....something Jeff and I are going to truly battle with! haha.

Here are some of my fav nursery ideas from Pinterest!

11 week photo:

It's Official!

Yup! It's official! Baby Davidson will be making his/her debut February 2013! It is crazy to think that human life has been created and it will be growing in this belly of mine! It seems so surreal, but so incredibly exciting. I have been waiting to be a mom what seems like my entire life!

We found out we were expecting June 8th. I knew I was late, but refused to take a test after seeing so many disappointing negative ones in previous months. After a week of suspicion I decided to sneak downstairs and take a test while Jeff was getting ready for work. You know how you are supposed to wait a couple minutes for the results? Yup....there was none of that! A plus sign immediately appeared and my life was forever changed. My body started shaking and I was filled with such excitement! I always thought I would do something cute and adorable to tell Jeff we were expecting. Ya know, make cinnamon buns for breakfast and tell him we have a bun in the oven......make him a card from baby to be........create a little onsie and leave it on the bed for him to see. Well surprising him didn't turn out the way I had envisioned it. I ran upstairs, knocked on the bathroom door and out he came to me handing him the pregnancy test. There were tears of joy and a moment of oh my god! We couldn't believe it. After 3 pregnancy tests and a trip to the doctor I knew and believed we were having a baby!

It's funny because the moment you see the plus sign, 2 lines or the word "pregnant" you are filled with pure happiness and excitement. Then you find out you have to wait 12 weeks to share the news with anyone! haha.....if anyone knows me you know I am not one to hold in something I am over the moon about! I obviously called my mom right away.....yes it was 6 o'clock in the morning, but this was something I was not going to be able to keep from her! The rest of our family found out Father's Day weekend. We drove to the Cape to share the news with Jeff's mom. On the way to the Cape we stopped at the baseball field to tell my sister and brother in law. We called Jeff's sister and Jeff's dad and everyone was just as excited as we were! I wanted to tell my dad in a special way! It was Father's Day so I made him one of my hand made cards. The card read:

It was priceless! What made it even more dramatic was the fact that he read the card out loud! I wasn't expecting that. Sooooo....needless to say, that's how all of my aunts, uncles, cousins, and close family friends found out!
